There’s so much to do and see while in the Santee Alley…where do we even begin? Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned Santee shopper, we’ve made a list of 5 tips that will prepare you for a successful shopping experience. If you follow these tips before and during your Santee Alley experience, we guarantee you’ll be back.
1.Wear Protection from the Sun
Los Angeles is sunny year-round, so wearing protection from the sun is important. Sunblock will be your best friend during your visit, and accessories like sunglasses and hats are also recommended for reducing sun exposure on your stroll through the alley. Don’t worry…if you forget these essentials at home, you’ve come to the right place.

2. Carry Cash
Grab some cash before heading over to the alley. Most parking lots only accept cash, and not all of the stores accept credit or debit cards. However, there are ATMs sprinkled throughout the alley in case you need extra cash while shopping. Money may not grow on trees, but it does come out of machines.
3. Wear a Backpack or Small Bag
If you’re anticipating shopping for over an hour, it’s in your best interest to bring a backpack or an extra bag to carry all of your purchases. The Santee Alley is two blocks and contains over 150 stores. Carrying a comfortable bag will allow you to have a better shopping experience. And again, if you happen to forget an extra bag at home…just add this to the top of your shopping list.

4. Comfortable Walking Shoes
The alley may look small since it’s only two blocks, but once you begin walking and realize that it’s over 150 stores jammed into only two blocks, you…and your feet…will be up for the challenge. To be comfortable, wear sneakers or your go-to footwear for getting your steps in. This is one of those acceptable occasions where comfort trumps style, and your feet will thank you.
